FAQ
WHO DO YOU TREAT IN YOUR PRACTICE?
I offer individual and group psychotherapy to adults aged 21 and older. I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients of all ages, backgrounds and sexual orientations and my practice includes people ranging in age from their twenties to well into their seventies.
I also offer adjunctive EMDR and Brainspotting work for clients who have a primary therapist and want to do trauma work with me.
WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF YOUR SESSIONS
Sessions are 45 minutes. Most clients are seen once a week which helps us to build a solid therapeutic relationship. Group therapy sessions are weekly and last 75 minutes.
WHAT IS THE COST PER SESSION?
Please inquire directly about current session fees. I accept checks, cash, Zelle, Cash App and all major credit cards. I also accept FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and HSA (Health Savings Account) debit cards.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I am not in network with any insurance companies, I am considered an out of network provider. I provide my clients with an insurance statement called a “Superbill” that clients can submit to their insurance provider if their plan covers out of network providers.
My decision not to partner with insurance companies helps ensure that decisions about the duration of treatment and type of work we do together will be made by you. It also protects your privacy.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
I require 24 hours’ notice to cancel an appointment and avoid the cancellation fee.
DO YOU SEE CLIENTS IN PERSON?
I see clients in-person and virtually in California, and virtually in New York and Texas. In-person appointments happen in my Santa Monica, California office.
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO A GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask me for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service and I will also provide one if you decide you’d like to work together. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
